Why I like Satellite Christian Radio - by Juliet Lee
It brings Jesus through the airwaves into my home. It encourages, delights, inspires, informs, challenges, comforts, picks me up and keeps me on track. Christian Radio has - sound Bible teaching - heart warming true stories - intelligent debates - sparkling wit - interactive phone-ins - mellow smooth worship music - traditional hymns we all love - news of God's work amongst the nations - and 'family issues' forums.
Christian Radio gives me - daily practical teaching coupled with wise counsel that's God honouring and uplifting - national and international reporting on Christian events - interviews with prominent people - news programmes and even traffic updates. It also has - music to dance to - music to relax to - music when you can't sleep - Sunday worship when you can't get to church - and so much more!
But sadly, Satellite remains a 'no go' area to many Christians. They mistakenly believe it will be expensive or require a contract with Sky. Also, many continue to be unaware of the control that can be had over the programming. The result is that they miss out on all this enriching and empowering Christian broadcasting.
Satellite can be received into your home for a one-off cost (without involving Sky if you wish). The various ways to get a system are clearly explained in the exceptionally helpful new website, www.ChristianSat.org.uk. You don't even need a TV for Christian Satellite Radio. In the website you'll discover how a satellite receiver works brilliantly just with a stereo system and sounds as clear as a CD!
Don't miss out any longer. Bring God through the airwaves into your home. You'll soon wonder how you ever managed without this God given resource.

Going digital
Make the best choice for Christian TV and Radio! by Steve Lee
We've all got to go digital soon. Our current analog TV broadcasts will be switched off across the UK by 2012. Digital opens up the opportunity to receive a large selection of Christian TV and Radio channels. So, what are the options?
There are four ways to go digital; Freeview (TV aerial), Satellite (dish), Cable and Broadband.
Freeview gives you Premier Christian Radio, but the stiff competition for the few channels available means another Christian channel is unlikely. Cable offers God TV, Premier Radio and UCB Europe Radio. But Cable isn't free and you even have to pay extra monthly rental for God TV. Broadband currently offers Christian TV on demand from a handful of websites, but also involves rental too.
So that leaves Satellite, which is a totally different story altogether! Satellite, in contrast, has over 20 channels of Christian broadcasting - and they are all free! No monthly fee, no contract, just the initial cost of a system. For example, standard installation of 'Freesat-from-Sky' cost's £150. Be careful, you could spend more on a Freeview box plus aerial upgrade, yet end up with just one Christian radio station! Satellite will, for the foreseeable future, offer by far the greatest number of free Christian channels.
To find out more, visit the ChristianSat Guide at www.ChristianSat.org.uk, a helpful website full of impartial information about getting Christian Satellite TV and Radio in the UK. It's been set up by Christians who simply want to help others to know how to access Christian broadcasting in this country.

Micro hi-fi in the kitchen
plays satellite radio
Why don't they listen to Christian Radio? by Steve Lee
For many Christians, satellite is not an option. They believe it will mean paying a monthly subscription, be expensive to install or have to be obtained from Sky. In fact, the opposite is true on all three counts!
As a result of this belief, many will choose Freeview, pay £50 for a set-top box and possibly another £100+ for an aerial upgrade. Which means they can access just one Christian Radio channel. The intense competition for the few Freeview channels means that another Christian channel is highly unlikely.
So how will the Christian community get to the facts? How will they be able to choose the best way to access Christian Broadcasting? Well, a website is now providing all the information needed to make that choice.
The ChristianSat Guide explains the various ways to get a satellite system cheaply and for a one-off cost, that will provide over 20 free Christian channels wherever you live in the UK. It also explains how easy it is to get satellite radio without a TV. This site is completely independent and non-commercial. It simply offers very good advice.
For less than the cost of a Freeview box and a typical aerial upgrade, you could have a satellite system giving 10 Christian Radio stations and 13 Christian TV stations with no further cost, just the possibility of even more Christian stations in future! Check out the www.ChristianSat.org.uk for all you need to know.

How do I receive Christian Radio? It's all explained in the ChristianSat Guide
One of the greatest sources of Christian Radio and Television programming in the UK and Europe is the "Sky" satellite system.

The 'radio tuner' in this Hi-Fi is a
Sky digibox!
There's no TV in sight!
A new website has set out to assist in helping the Christian community to understand how they can reach this programming
and, for some, take away the fear of satellite!
The creators of the site hope it will encourage people to consider a satellite system, because, in the UK, satellite
provides the widest choice of Christian channels to virtually the whole country.
Many Christians do not appear to realise that it is very easy to get a satellite system for a one-off cost with nothing
further to pay, and the website explains the various ways this can be done.
It is also possible to use a Sky digibox as a Radio receiver (with no TV), in conjunction with a Hi-Fi unit,
which may appeal to those not wishing to use a TV when listening to the Radio stations.

ChristianSat Guide: making sense of satellite
Do you want to hear Christian Radio on satellite but are confused or worried about what's involved? If so, help is now at hand through a brand new website designed specifically with Christian satellite listeners in mind. Called the ChristianSat Guide, it can be viewed at www.ChristianSat.org.uk
The last ten years have seen a total transformation in the provision of Christian Radio and TV for UK audiences. And central to that change have been programmes received via satellite, notably through Sky.
But many Christians are still missing out on this revolution in spiritual instruction and inspiration, often simply because of confusion or apprehension. So anything that helps dispel the myths and the fear surrounding satellite services and provides clear helpful guidance must be welcome. It is exactly this kind of help that ChristianSat provides.
Some of the misconceptions tackled by ChristianSat are -
- 'Satellite will cost me £40 a month' (false)
- 'You have to subscribe to Sky' (false)
- 'You can only hear satellite radio through the TV' (false again)
And there's lots of other useful information, ranging from why you should choose satellite and how to get the best system, to what Christian channels are available and where to find them.
So if you don't currently hear Christian Radio on Sky, but are thinking you might like to, why not go along to www.ChristianSat.org.uk and find out more. It might open up a whole new world of good listening.
'I hope the ChristianSat Guide will clear away misconceptions and the fear of satellite, and help
Christians throughout the UK to make a more informed choice.'
